Doctors working on a woman’s colon accidentally ended up connecting it to her vagina, it has been claimed.
Jasminka Velkovska had been in hospital to have a carcinoma removed from her colon, but when she woke up it was soon realised there had been a problem.
Jasminka told local TV: ‘While I was recovering, doctors came and asked me if I was passing gas, and I said yes, but it’s coming out of my vagina.
‘They told me that it would soon pass and I would be ok, but stuff had started to come out of my vagina and I was feeling scared and it was all very unpleasant.’
She has been fighting for compensation for what happened for the last three years and has now been on TV in Macedonia to put pressure on the hospital.

She said that staff at the September 8 Hospital failed to remove the carcinoma and she had to have another operation.
This time she opted to use a different hospital.
They reached an out of court settlement worth £25,700, but she says that she is still owed nearly £10,000.
Hospital Manager Sasho Stojcev claimed that the hospital cannot pay the damage without a court order, adding that the compensation was only partly covered by their insurance company.
The remaining money, Stojcev says, does not have to be paid off by the hospital. This is reportedly because the compensation was not fully covered by the insurance company and the document allegedly does not state who exactly should pay it.
Jasminka is reportedly unhappy with the hospital’s excuses and said that if they do not pay up soon, she and her family plan to sue the hospital.
